Work & Family - Family is Priority

I have been in the US for like the last year (on and off on business visa). Being there i came to understand a few things in the way folks there work. Their priority has always been family. They are workaholics but when there is need they give a damn to work and take care of the family.

I have lived in Chennai for he past 30 yrs. I have seen a lot of folks who work day in and day out. What they think is that when someone in the family falls sick they have someone else to take care of them while they can get to work. Since i have seen quite a many people of this sort i also believed that this would be the right thing to do so that my work is not disturbed. Apparently this causes issues where the person who is ill is looking for you to take care of them and not a replacement and hence they are not happy.

Regular occurances of these types of activities mean that in due corse of time folks are going to start disliking you or are going to be unhappy the way you run the family.

Being in the US for the last year has taught me more on how i should run my family and how i should not. I feel happier now that i got this chance to identify the truth and change so that i can lead a happy life.

Note: This is my personal feeling, things can be different from people to people but i believe i know i have done the right thing in changing.
